More Leaks Slip Out... The newest information to be leaked as the expected launch date of the iPad 3 approaches is coming faster.
Here are some cool pics from Guilherme Martins Schasiepe. It's his design of what he envisions that next gen ipad 3 to be.
Another week has passed by and like the many other rumors that I am following I would just have to say that this one seems to coincide with the the many others already spoken about.
What...No iPad 3??? Relax. I should say "not yet". According to the TG Daily, it is being reported that an iPad might actually make it to market along side of the iPhone 5 this fall.
The iPad3 App Improvement - Experience The Technologies - Apple has always believed in generating a niche for itself in the marketplace by bringing a revolution by means of its varied advanced merchandise.
It appears that iPad production will ramp up in the upcoming quarter as iPhone production is being scaled back. Units will be between 26 and 28 million for the iPhone. Many expect that the new iPhone 5 will be released sometime in September or October of this year. If that is true, then inventories for the current generations should begin to build as many will wait on their purchase for the iPhone 5.
In the mean time the iPad’s sales and production is expected to increase by a million units to around 15 million for the quarter. The retina display has really turned people on to the capabilities of the iPad and likely the iPhone 5.
As rumors continue about the iPhone 5, we start to report on them.
Before the “new iPad” or iPad 3 was launched, there were rumors that a smaller version of the iPad dubbed by many, the iPad mini. This iPad mini was discussed here and we gave you the reasons back then of why it would not happen.
The past few weeks have seen the rumors again heating up and we shall look into the reasons of why or why not Apple would launch an iPad mini.
Since the iPad was originally launched and found success, manufacturers have released a plethora of products similar to it, except on a smaller platform. The 7″ tablet was untouched by Apple and many manufactures saw their opportunity to leverages google’s android software while trying to capture this smaller space. The Kindle Fire, Nook Tablet, etc… eventually found the space to be hospitable and large.
Many figured that Steve Jobs and his ego would launch something that would eventually crush the space as many people were Apple fans and would likely buy a smaller and cheaper version of the hugely successful iPad. That strategy was eventually debunked by Jobs himself. Stating that the strategy made no sense because software vendors would have to design for 3 sizes of apps, the iphone, the ipad and now the iPad mini, Jobs felt like this was not the strategy for Apple.
But the real reason would have to be something much larger. The iPad itself was reason enough. Millions of iPads are sold every year. The margins on the devices are terrific because there is no competition. Sure Android and Samsung are picking up momentum, but they are far from becoming a serious threat to Apple’s dominance in the 10″ tablet arena.
If Apple were to approach this 7″ “mini” market, they would risk cannibalizing the iPad’s market share and dominance with a lower margin product. Essentially, they would be competing with themselves. Why would Apple do this? Right now they are the industry leaders and many around the world are in love with the name and the products. If you want Apple, which many do, than fork the money over for a great product, not some 7″ wanna-be.
Apple cannabalized their iPod users with the iPhone. They will not do that with their tablet dominance with an introduction of an iPad mini. I would rather start thinking about Apple TV. That is where Apple’s next move will be.

Verizon or AT&T?
So you are thinking like all of us other sheeple following Apple and its product line, and considering the iPad 3 or “new ipad” For less confusion I will refer to it as the iPad 3.
But if you want something that is beyond the normal wi-fi and want to go with a mobile carrier, who would it be? Verizon or At&T? There is none offered by sprint yet so if you are looking for LTE speeds the big two are all you can go with.
So let’s do a quick comparison between the coverage:
Cost
AT&T-per month
250 MB – $14.99
3 GB – $30.00
5GB – $50.00
Verizon-per month
1GB – $20.00
2 GB – $30.00
5 GB – $50.00
I’m going to say this is a draw with pricing except Verizon is offering to double its 2GB data plan for $30.00. Sot that means 4GB for $30. That is a pretty good deal over AT&T. But this is a limited time offer so Verizon has an edge for the time being.
Also, why would AT&T even offer 250MB? That isn’t really even worth it.
Coverage
Depending on what city you live in, you may not even have a choice. Advantage lies with Verizon as they have 200 cities that offer LTE while AT&T has only 32 currently. They are planning on adding more cities but at what rate is unclear. So if you travel alot for business or you just live in a city that only has Verizon’s LTE, than the obvious choice is Verizon.
Bonus
Verizon can turn your iPad into a personal hotspot for any of your other wifi only devices. This is amazing to me that they don’t even charge extra for doing so. Besides being free with any data plan, AT&T doesn’t even offer this. No word yet on the power drain being a wifi hotspot, but Im sure it will use lots of juice. Big advantage for Verizon.
Conclusion
Hands down, Verizon is the better choice for you Data plan needs if you plan on getting the new iPad 3 with mobile service. The LTE speeds are offered in way more cities while also offering the choice to turn your iPad 3 into a hotspot for your other devices. Pricing is very similar in terms of data and pricing, but right now you can get a little bit more for a little bit less with Verizon. AT&T has a little while to climb but they don’t seem worried.
After the launch of the new iPad last month, there were some reports coming out that the iPad was overheating. Consumer reports even did a review that showed under heavy load that the device could get about 11 degrees warmer. This is not anywhere the “burning” issue that some of the reports were making it out to be.
Now that its been almost a month, ZDNET is referring to a survey done by Changewave Research. In this report, it compares the staisfaction of customers with the new iPad and the previous iPad 2.
Over 200 customers were surveyed, and the overwhelming majority of them said they never experienced any heat issues to the tune of 89% with 0% saying the issue was a major problem. The report goes on to say that 82% are ‘very satisfied’ with the device.
I don’t know about you, but that makes me believe what my friends have been telling me. The ‘new iPad’ is a great device.
I still enjoy my iPad 2 and really don’t have a big reason to upgrade so besides toying around with other peoples iPad, I will be waiting for the next ‘new ipad’. But if someone does buy me one I will graciously accept it…hint hint.

Are there problems with the new iPad
The successful launch of the iPad 3 or new Ipad a few days ago went well. Over 3 million iPads have been sold to date and so far no broken bones to be reported by the Apple community as they waited for the device.
But what has made the news are reports of the new iPad overheating. This is somewhat reminiscent of the iPhone 4 release where users complained of dropped calls, and Apple denying it. Eventually Apple was forced to give out free cases to indiviudals to prevent them from holding the phone a certain way causing a short in the antennae.
The reports of the overheating iPad vary from being somewhat wam, to unconfortably hot. Some have attributed the heat coming from the larger battery. Many believe it is the quad-core GPU that is causing the heat when rendering images on the new retina display.
The reports are uneven as only some people are reporting the issue as coming from the bottom left of the iPad device. Apple has denied that there is an issue and says that the new iPad is running as expected.
I would say the more apps and operations you run with it, the warmer it will become. With the increase in CPU and GPU power, the iPad has to run a little warmer through the aluminum frame. But is it to the point where people cannot hold it? I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary.
My guess is that if the complaints continue, another free case is on the way.
